This is me and Macy bored to death while we were waiting for Reid. He had baseball practice...which usually takes hours! It does gets a little boring. So whats two fun and crazy girls to do? Luckily, I had my camera. We had fun passing the time. As you can tell!

In all the fun Macy and I had in taking pictures of ourselves, I forgot to take a picture of Reid doing his "practice" thing. I know...I'm a bad Mom. So, here he is all ready for a game. Isn't my baby the cutest? I just wanna pinch his cute little cheeks.

Grandma

As I was tucking my sweet daughter in bed tonight I was hit with a deep question. I know...she's such a deep thinker. ha! As always, she asks me about Grandma Salas. She loved her so much and remembers her so well. It amazes me. She passed away about a year ago and asks about her almost every night. Along with Leon, Papa Johns toothless neighbor. Why she asks about him is beyond me. We met him once. He left a big impression on her one night when we were over there. She asked him about his tooth and why he only had one. I was so embarrased. I can't believe she even had the guts to ask him. Shes my outspoken one! But for real, he only had one tooth. I mean come on, pull it out for petes sake. What can you possibly eat with only one tooth? Anyway, thats besides the point. She prays for Grandma (and Leon..who died of a heart attack) every night. Her prayers are so sweet. So tender. She asks God to make them better so they can come back. I think they learned about Lazarus at church. :) If only it was that easy.

Tonight she asked me again, when will Grandma come back? She asked when we go to Heaven, how long will we be there. I said forever. It will be awesome! She said she doesn't really want to go right now. She said she didn't think there would be snow, pumpkins or Halloween. That girl! When has she ever seen snow! HA I told her how wonderful Heaven is and how God is preparing a place just for us. I went on to say that others go on before us to help get it all ready and wait for us with open arms. Grandma is waiting with open arms...just for us. We all miss her and love her but know that God is taking very good care of her. And God is taking care of so many other loved ones. I told her how wonderful that it will be. She didn't seem to excited. Yet. But for me. Oh my. No pain. No worries. No sickness. No debt (ha). No tears. No busyness. No evil. Only the best our Father has to give us. What a reunion....God is SO good!

How do you answer a 5 year olds answer about Heaven? Did I say the right thing?

Time flies....

I just tucked my baby into bed, read books, prayed, kissed and then as I left...cried. Why am I taking this Kindergarten thing so bad? I just feel so sad. I stood in her room remembering where her baby bed once was and how I would rock her at all hours of the night praying for her. Now, she has big girl stuff and now I step on Polly Pockets and Barbie shoes! ha Oh, I know she will do good. I know she will make friends. Its just I have been with her 24/7 for the last 5 years and tomorrow I will come home alone. I know it sounds pitiful and I know this time tomorrow night I will be fine. Really I will. Time just goes by too fast. Please keep her in your prayers as she starts this new adventure of her life. Because, watch out Kindergarten...here comes "LuLu".

As I tucked my other sweet baby into bed, we talked, we prayed and yes, he still gives me kisses. ha ha And thankfully he is full of excitement. His clothes were laid out in perfect order. Shirt, shorts, belt, socks and new Nike Shocks. He has been my little fashion bug lately. He has always loved shopping. HA This is the first year in a long time he hasn't cried from worrying about the first day of school. I think his teacher is awesome and he is really excited about having her. I just know it is going to be a good year...I can feel it in my bones. Or I guess I could say my mommy "gut" feeling. He also has friends in his class this year. Last year, remember...BAD! So, this year we have people we know and a great teacher. We are blessed. I also ask that you keep Rooster in your prayers for a good year, good choices and good times. Man, I love that boy.

I will post first day of school pictures soon. I love those first day of school pics, you know, the ones in front of the house with the backpacks on and ready to go. Mom used to always take one of us when we were little. I love those. :) Oh, the memories!

Coffee makes me happy

I saw this picture while "surfing" the net today. I loved it and had to post it. It is totally me. Truth be told, I have only liked, no loved, coffee for about a two years. I always swore that I would never drink it. My Mom always said I would and I said not on your life. My mom and my Nana drink it religiously and not only in the morning. They have afternoon coffee as well....with Mable across the street. Doesn't that sound like fun? Well, it is and Mable and Nana together is good for the soul. They have been best friends for over 30 years and have been through alot together. Well, that's for another post. HA Anyway, back to my dislike of coffee.....I even hated the smell of it. I never in a million years thought when I was in my 30's that I would become my mothers child and drink a whole pot of coffee BY MYSELF. Well, I do and so do my girlfriends. And we love it and we are proud of it! HA Coffee rules. Coffee gives you energy. Coffee smells good. Coffee makes me happy....well, with Pralines and Cream creamer (thanks, Lacie!) So, I guess you could say I am a coffee addict and love every minute of it! And now I am waiting on my sister to adore it as well. Just give it time, sis and you will come to love it!

Happy Birthday to my hubby....I love you....you don't look a day over 21. :) This guy means the world to me and has for as long as I can remember. He's an awesome husband and the best dad in the world. So, in honor of his big day, he's out playing golf. :) Happy birthday, baby....you ROCK!

Am I crazy?

Whew...I did it. It's done. I registered for my 2nd Half Marathon AND I treated myself this year and made reservations at the hotel right outside from the start line. I am really excited about running this year. Last year I was a newbie, this year....well, still feel like a newbie but getting better. HA! I really want to better my time this year. Last year, my time was bad but hey, we stopped and danced with the bands, hugged family members, ate oranges & M and M's and stopped at Valero to pee. HA! We were all having a great time and we just wanted to say we finished! Well, I still want to say I finished but with a better time than last year. Who would have ever thought I would ever be a runner. Well I am. My name is Heather and I am a runner. Boy, that feels good.

Now, I am trying to get my honey to run with me...we'll see.

good day/bad day

Today was great...out to lunch with some friends, to Kohls to shop a little, Walmart for some groceries and to Sonic for a Diet Cherry Limeade! What more could a girl want? :) Well, Macy wanted a slush and the slushy machine was broke...that kind of ruined her day. Well, guess what ruined mine......a DANG ticket.

As we were driving home, I cut through a sub-division to get out of the traffic and accidentally ran (or rolled through) and STOP sign. oops. So, I knew what I did, I deserved the ticket but I didn't deserve the treatment I got when that mean, old, grouchy, police man got out of his car. Now, I'm sure he gets really tired of stopping women who run stop signs, run lights, have fender benders...whatever.....get over it. When he got to my window I politely asked for a warning....it went something like this:

ME: "Sir, do you think you could give me a warning, today?"

HIM: "HPD doesn't give warnings."

ME: "Ok"

HIM: "Registration and License"

(um, did you hear a please?? I don't think so) and he walks back to his car. Then Macy starts crying thinking that I am going to jail and she will never see me again. I guess he takes about 10 minutes....I guess he can't type fast who knows...or maybe my rap sheet was too long....NOT....but come on, how long does it take to write me a ticket. Maybe he's clueless. I think he is.

HIM: "What were you doing in this neighborhood?"

ME: "Coming home from Wal-Mart."

HIM: "Oh, your cutting through?"

I'm thinking...you should be a detective. Um, yeah, Sherlock, I cut through. Is that a crime?

ME: "yes, sir"

Still trying to be nice a friendly, christian attitude. But mad as all get out.

HIM: "Well, you can take defensive driving because our records show you haven't had it in about 3 years."

And I thought...it looks like you haven't had it in 3 years either....no, thats mean! sorry. HA HA

ME: OK

And that was it. No, hi, bye, nothing....you think he could at least be nice for a minute. As I drove away I was mad that I didn't say anything to him. Why didn't I stand up for myself? That makes me mad when I do that. It wouldn't have changed anything but I would have felt better.

I think the thing that really upsets me is that Macy was crying. We have always told her that P.O.s are nice and to always find one if she is lost, or whatever. But, now she is scared of them. She says they are mean. And you know what, today, I think they are mean too. Some people skills is all he needs. Maybe he doesn't have kids, or a family and is just mean like that. Who knows his situation. I ran (rolled thru) the sign, I deserved the ticket but I didn't deserve to be treated like I just robbed a bank. OK....I guess I should get off my soap box and cool off.

Anyone know how to get out of a stupid ticket? Because obviously niceness doesn't work in this big city.

I was tagged by sweet friend Holly to complete a little fun "Did you know?" I think these are so much fun. I will try to remember things...I have a horrible memory. I might have to call my sister to ask her some questions. She remembers EVERYTHING!! Too much if you ask me! Just kidding, sis. HA

Jobs I have had:

1. Gindlers Department Store-Main Street, Smithville. The one and only clothing store in the town. I started working there, I think, when I was a Freshman. I started out wrapping presents and making bows. I got really good at it, if I do say so myself! HA During the summers and after school my Mom worked there with me. We had a fun group of ladies there.
2. Senior in High School....moved on up to the First State Bank. Did a little of everything.
3. College-Wonderland School and Daycare. Watched afterschoolers and worked in the baby room. I really loved that job. I worked there until Troy and I got married. I met some wonerful ladies at that school.
4. NationsBank. Worked there after marriage and until Reid was born. I was a teller and worked in Customer Service. Big Whoop. :)
5. Back in S'ville. First State Bank again. another big whoop.
6. Stay at home mommy...my most favorite job in the whole world!!

WOW! I have had a lot of jobs. I feel really old. :)

I got all my running gear out last night, drank lots of water all day long, got my fuel belt ready, running skirt out, sports bra clean....you get the picture....and then realized my sweet hubby had to work the next day. I hate that! He works that stinky shift work. While the pay is good, the hours stink! So, I got to sleep late this morning. I did wake up about 3 times to potty, since I did drink so much water the day before. One of the times I woke up was 6 am and I thought of my girls running their little hearts out....near and far....and then I rolled over and went to sleep. Sorry girls. Hope you all had a great run.

So, since I missed my run, I went this evening. No, Mom and Ashley, it wasn't dark. I went right before dark....thank you! :) Now I feel good and feel like I have done my "quota" for the day. Even though I was bored and my ipod got stuck around mile 2ish. I hated that. I was really jamming and getting into it when.....nothing. So the rest of the way was quiet. It was nice, though.

Now I stink, so I'm off to the shower! TMI...maybe?

As you know, our family has grown by 2 and we are so happy. I just had to post a couple of pics of these beauties. I am a proud aunt. Reid and Macy are so excited to have little cousins. Both of these babies are so sweet and so special to me. I just love them so much. I can't wait to see them and love on them. I am gonna spoil them rotten. I think I just might start this weekend when we go to the beach! HA I know Avery wants a slurpee and Jaxon might want a tootsie roll pop....

Today I took my kidos to the waterpark here in town. We went with some friends and really had fun.....that was until it started raining. Good news....RAIN CHECKS! Now we get to go back again...for free! :) Why is it that the rain only starts after you lather them with sunscreen?

Go Blue Crew!

My official training for the 2008 Houston 1/2 Marathon starts tomorrow! I am really excited about it. The Blue Crew will take off in the morning at 6am for a easy 3 mile run. Did I just say an easy 3 miles? Oh, my. I am a little nervous because I haven't been at it like I had been a few months ago. Life just happens and some things take the back burner. Like my running. It always seems to be the mothers things that take a back burner...but that's for another post! HA

I have never been a runner. And what possessed me to start, I'll never know. But, I'm glad that I did because not only did I learn to be more disciplined I have also met some AWESOME friends. :) We always have coffee after our morning runs. Sometimes when we feel like we just can't run another mile we think of the cup of coffee waiting for us at the local coffee shop. But above all I feel better when I run. I feel healthier when I run. I feel like I can conquer the world when I run. My days are better when I run. I know now what that runners high is that everyone talks about. I used to roll my eyes (where no one could see me) but now I'm like....YES...I know that feeling. And then when you have those new running shoes. Oh, I love it. HA I think buying new running clothes is one of the perks! :) Its a girl thing. And yes, I have a pink running skirt......

My sweet friend lost her battle with breast cancer last night around midnight. Thank you for your prayers for her family and for her to finally be at peace. She is in the arms of her Father and we have the utmost faith in that! She was a wonderful Christian woman and example to all she met. And we all know that one day, soon, we will see her again. My sweet friend has seen His glory....she is victorious!

Please continue to pray for her husband and daughter as we know these next few days will be so hard.

Prayers

Please pray for a friend of mine. She is losing her battle with breast cancer. She has fought the good fight but her body just can't take any more. She is a strong woman who fought this fight with grace and dignity for over 4 years. Please pray for peace for her and for her husband and 6 year old daughter, who doesn't understand why her mommy is so sick....or what is going on in their lives right now. They are going thru a storm right now and need our prayers. Thank you.

Love Birds

On May 29th my sweet parents celebrated a lovely wedding anniversary. I'm sure I talked to my mom a hundered times that day and never said Happy Anniversary. I am so sorry! And a nice shout out to my bro and sis for reminding me! LOL Just joking. I should have remembered...I'm a bad daughter! I'm sure I was at the ballpark or something. Anyway, no excuses!

So, Mom and Dad....Happy Anniversary. We all love you both so much and thank God for your relationship and the examples that you set everyday. You are awesome parents and the best Neena and Papaw in the world!

10 Year Challenge

I've had so much fun going back through old pics trying to decide what I was going to post in my 10 year challenge blog....great idea Holly!!! Well, its been a little over 10 years since my life changed forever. My firstborn son was welcomed into the world August of 1996. He was somewhat of a surprise but the best surprise I could have ever asked for!

Troy and I had only been married for a year and were both still going to college. We were both shocked but so happy! We had no idea what God had in store for us but we knew He wanted us to be parents! We were ready for the challenge...scared to death...but ready.

Reid has blessed my life beyond my wildest dreams. I was meant to be his mother and I am so thankful for him. I pray daily for this little bundle of joy and have really enjoyed watching him grow into a handsome little 10 year old. He brightens my life and at night when he is sleeping I sneak in there to kiss his sweet little face and pray for him...shhh! don't tell him!




Here I am in the hospital giving birth to my sweet son, Reid. And, as you can tell by the picture, Troy was sure tired from all the hard work...whatever!! HA HA This is one of my favorite pics from Reid's birth because I never even knew Troy was sleeping until I got this pic back. I thought he was rubbing my back the whole time! HA HA Boy, did I give him a hard time and still do! I can guarantee you he didn't do this at Macy's birth! : ) Oh, BTW, that nurse was horrible! Ask Ashley....






Little Reid.....awww, I rememeber this day like it was yesterday. He slept so much, loved his binky and love to be all wrapped up in blankets! If he wasn't wrapped as tight as could be he wouldn't sleep. He was the cutest little baby!

I remember people telling me to enjoy the moment because it went by to fast....I always said , yeah right. But, oh my, does time fly! I believe them now.











Now look at my 10 year old! Still cute as ever. Now he hates bedtime, doesn't like covers and sleeps on his back. I love this kid with all my heart and have loved spending the last 10 years as his mom.....can't wait for the next phase of our lives. Or, can I??? He's about to enter those tween years! YIKES!! HA Every day is an adventure!

Today, my friend, Lacie wanted a post about something pink...a pink challenge, if you will! And the first thing that came to my mind that was pink has to do with something I have been dealing with all week with my baby. Are you ready?? Have an open mind.... ha ha :) This is my sisters favorite medicine! :) LOL

Ok, ok...I'm goin'

I am a sucker. Always have been. Today, again, I let the tears of my sweet son make me a sucker.

Homework has always been a sore spot with Reid. He hates it. And to tell you the truth I do too. But, nonetheless, it has to be done. Everyday is a struggle and a fight to get it done. This year has been really hard for him and those who know me have heard the story 3.7 million times and I am almost positive you don't want to hear it again.

Today the tears flowed and the tantum started. We both got upset and the grounding occured. After about 2 hours of hashing it out....it is somewhat resolved and the homework is pretty much complete. The grounding...well, it is over. I know....I'm a sucker.

I guess the point of this post is I feel like I am at my wits end and I ask for prayers. His attitude this year has been different. He has had a rough year (and grown alot) and I ask for prayers from my friends and family that the rest of this year and next year be better for him. And me. Also for peace and understanding. I know you shouldn't pray for this but a little p-a-i-t-e-n-c-e would be nice...just don't say it too loud. This year has been a hard time for both of us. I have been in tears just as many times as him, I think. I'm sad to see him go through this and to be so broken hearted.

Happy Mothers Day

Today is a very special day. One that, in my books, is the best day of the year! :)

As mothers sometimes we get stepped on, puked on, peed on, pooped on, toes ran over by bike/scooter tires (yes, its true), things spilled on us and an occasional slap in the face by kids while all are in my bed. We have to know how to pitch a baseball, duct tape a wiffle ball back together, dress barbies, Polly Pockets, listen to Dora the Explorer over and over, watch ESPN, know who all the Astro players are and some stats and Band-Aid all boo-boos.

And of course, my favorite days are the days when we get hugged, kissed, snuggled, told we are loved, an occasional "thanks, Mom" and you are special mom and a "here are some flowers I picked just for you".

I love being a mom. It is one of the greatest joys of my life. I never knew that being a mom could be so rewarding. My kids are my life, and as God planned, my responsiblity. Yikes...thats scary! HA Being in charge of someones little soul is sometimes more than I can bear but with lots of prayer and God's help, I might make it through. :) My children are a blessing...they make me strive to be a better christian, a better mom, and better wife....I love them so much.

I am the mom I am today because my Mom loves me and my siblings so much. She always has showed us that unconditional love that I hope I show my children. I know for a fact that I gave her a few gray hairs. I better not rehash my teenage years. I don't know what came over me! HAHA But, I think that's normal. I hope. I'm sure I will get back what I deserve. :)

A "few" things about Mom:

*She is a beautiful woman, inside and out.

*She is our rock.

*She is fun, hip and spunky. And always has been.

*She is the mother that all my friends in high school wanted! :)

Mom came for Macy's birthday! We all had so much fun. Macy was so excited that Neena was coming for her birthday. She also came for Reid's baseball game. We really had a wonderful weekend and we love when Neena comes! And, Ash, BA and Avery came for Macy's b'day. M. thought is was pretty special that her new cousin came for her special day. We all loved getting to kiss on sweet Avery (and Ash, too)! I love that sweet baby!

After Reid's game we went to Gattiland to feed our faces! It was fun and as you can tell Reid hit the jackpot. The evening at Gattiland isn't complete without Reid hitting a jackpot of some sort! HA And unlike me...he is a saver! Instead of using his tickets for some junk toy he has a ticket account. His balance is 5,750! Can you believe that? I would have already spent that! I love this boy!

When we went to register her for Kinder. she told all the office staff that she was 5 and so was ALL her friends. Like they really care! LOL I love this girl!

This month has been a wild one for my baby girl. She turned 5 on the 27th, dance recital practice and the big kicker...I registered her for Kindergarten yesterday. She was a little nervous, but I know, when the time comes that she will do awesome. She is so smart (well of course, I'd think that!!) and soaks things in like a sponge. I know she will be reading in no time.

M. is my out-going child. She never meets a stranger. She is kind and tenderhearted on one hand and can be sassy and crazy on the other. She is a true mixture of her mommy and daddy. Me the crazy one and Troy the mild/meek one. (HA)

Five years has flown by and I can't believe she will be leaving me for school. It has been a long time that I haven't had a baby at home with me. What will I do next year? Oh, I guess eat bon-bons like every other stay-at-home mom.....NOT!! I know that first day I will be crying like a baby. I bet my car automatically pulls into a Starbucks for a comforting cup of White Chocolate Mocha. I am gonna miss her during the day. I will miss hearing Dora the Explorer in the background, her getting in my bed snuggling with me after Reid leaves, us painting our nails whenever we feel like it, our morning walks and play dates. It makes me tear up just thinking about it. I remember crying and missing R., as well. It seems like just yesterday.

M. is my princess and makes me and her daddy very proud. God knew exactly what we wanted in a daughter when He gave us sweet M. Happy Birthday, sweet Lulu. Your mommy loves you to the moon and back a million times and is so proud of you. You will do well in school and will be the coolest 5 year old there! :)

Just yummy!

Ok...I know this sounds gross and I know FOR SURE that my Mom will puke, but.....This is my new favorite snack. She absolutly hates peas. We never ate them growing up because she hated them. And what do you know...I really like them. I hate the name...PEAS...why'd God do that?

Now, before you say NASTY, just listen. :) At HEB you can get these yummy organic snacks. They have Just peas, Just strawberries and bananas, Just corn, Just cherries, Just blueberries...you get the jist. Not only are they yummy, they are good for you. I have also tried the strawberries and bananas...YUM. I want to try the corn next. I know, I'm a dork. But, when you have high cholosterol you'll try anything. :)

Now my next thing....why is food that is good for you so expensive? I think I will email the head honcho at HEB and just tell them what I think. Just Peas should not be $4.99. Come on now, give me a break!

Ok...now for the most important news of the day:

MACY IS 5!!

Today is my sweet lu-lu's birthday! She is so excited about being 5! I will post about her later! We have presents to wrap, cakes to bake, and a house to clean before my mom comes! Oh my, my house looks BAD! Where does all the time go? I have been trying to clean it all week. Any way, if you get a moment say a prayer for my baby as she grows in God's grace. Happy birthday, my love...

Rain, Rain go away!

What's a girl to do on a rainy Wednesday? Oh, I know....make cute and colorful clay-doh people. I swear she has that creative girly bone! HA While I was cleaning the kitchen she made these little people all by herself. I wondered why she was coming in the kitchen to get my cookie sheet! Don't you just love their wiggly eyes. :)

Reid : Well, what if she was pregnant forever?

Me: You can't honey, its totally impossible.

Reid: But, lets just say what if she did?

Me: Your body just can't do that...God prepares your body for the baby's delivery.

Reid and Macy were so excited for Avery to get here! And to have a new cousin! They were amazed at how tiny she was! Reid did a good job of holding her. He wasn't scared at all....he's a natural! :)

We spent Easter in Smithville and had a fun time hunting eggs and eating tons of candy. Mom had all the stuff to dye the eggs so we did that late Sat. night. We also went to Colombus to Troy's cousins house and spent time with his family. It is always fun to see them and eat lunch and hunt eggs together. Other than the rain and COLD weather in April...Easter weekend was a hit!

Here's my precious new neice! Isn't she beautiful! I mean really! :) There is nothing sweeter than a new baby! Especially when its part of your family! Welcome to the family sweet Avery Naomi!

Emus, Zebras and BABIES

How would you like to spend your Monday? Oh, lets see....maybe a pedicure, maybe a run around the neighborhood, maybe a movie, maybe rock a sweet new neice, or maybe a day to yourself just scrapbooking? Well, all those sound wonderful but it did not happen to me today! Today I had a field trip with 14 three year olds. Yes, you heard me...14! Of course, I wasn't alone but still..that's beside the point. We took a caravan to the Bayou Wildlife Park in Dickinson. It really is fun. You get to ride the horses, pet the goats and take a 40 minute tram ride around their 80+ acres. The animals literally come right up to you and eat out of your bucket. We saw emus, buffalos, zebras, longhorns, deer, camels, and so many more stinky, hairy & weird looking animals. We even got to see 2 huge alligators....and no, we didn't get to feed them! HA The kids really had a great time once they got used to these HUGE animals coming right up to them. So, need less to say, I am ready for a nap. And I am just a little tired of hearing, "Mrs. Heather, Mrs. Heather". HA....

On Thursday, Macy has her field trip so we are off again...This time to Kemah! Now that will be a fun one.

Baby Avery is doing great. I talked to them today and she is sleeping, pooping, eating and doing all the things babies should be doing. I wish I was there to kiss her but I am feeling a little under the weather today. I know she is in great hands so I guess I'll have to wait! :) She is so precious...I can't wait until Ashley posts some pics..then I can post one! :) We have some really good ones...you know Neena! And Ashley! It's amazing how you can love someone so much...babies are truly a gift from God. And, I'm only the old aunt!

****Macy's funny for this weekend...... "Oh, don't shoot Flicka. If you do she'll be deader worser!"

Oh and BTW, that comment made me and Ashley laugh so hard and that might have been the key to putting her in labor. Your welcome, sis.

Avery

SHE'S HERE!!! YIPEE!! Ashley and BA are the proud parents of Avery Naomi! (after our grandmother) She is absolutely beautiful. She weighed 7 lbs and 11 oz and was 21 inches long. She is such a sweet baby and she loves to cuddle! I'm in love! :)

I haven't downloaded any pics yet....its midnight and I'm just getting home and settled. I know Ashley will have pics to post and the story of Avery's arrival. I just wanted you all to know she's here, she's healthy and we appreciate all your prayers. God is good!

Heart Matters

I'm so proud of my momma...she is one of the new voices of the American Heart Association. Of course, she is going to be one of the best they ever had! :) Those who know her know what a great writer and speaker she is. I could never do what she does and I am so proud to be her daughter and friend!

Five years ago my sweet mom had her first heart attack. At the tender age of 50...(right, Mom?) Then just last year she had another one.....scared us all, again. We do know that she has heart disease and that she is one lucky woman to have survived not one but two massive heart attacks.

She has made the decision to retire next year. I know she will miss the kids and the ladies that she has worked with for 30 years. I do know this was a decision to help her get healthier and have time to do the things that she wants to do. She is always so giving of her time to everyone else and now it's time for some time for herself. She can also spend more time with family...we have a lot of babies to rock, baseball games to see and dance recitals to attend...and all the while help more people understand the seriousness of heart disease.

We have always said that God isn't finished with her yet, and we are so glad. I think this new deal is right up her alley and I couldn't be happier for her......You go get 'em, Momma. I love you.

She was in the middle of playing Polly Pockets. HA And we all know how much fun THAT is. :)

What was you favorite thing to do at Neenas?

Ummm, writing with Neena when she was in front of me. I liked to weared those red shoes. Oh, and play outside. I think thats all.

Yeah, I really did have fun.

8:31...is that late?? I slept and snuggle buggled with Neena.

What did you eat at Neena's house?

Um, breakfast and thats all.

Did Neena let you do anything you want?

Oh yes, we played outside, played on the swings. We didn't get to swin because Papaw said it was too cold outside. And the pool was yucky. I don't think Papaw cleaned it yet. I'm gonna tell him to do that.

Did you go to Nana and Poppi's house?

Yeah, it was fun. I stayed there for a while because Neena said. But I liked it. Oh, and I did play a jumping game.

Did Nana jump with you?

Oh, No...just me. She just watched me. :)

What else did you do there?

I just like ate jellybeans, skittles, and that all. I think I forgot something.

Jump 'N Jungle

My friend Gloria and I took the kids to this great place called Jump 'n Jungle. It is so much fun. It's just a bunch of moonwalks in this big building. Why didn't I think of that??? :)


Macy loves going...and hey, its cheaper than the movies! HA It's really great on rainy days....They can still get all their energy out.

Blessing of the Feet

This was one of my favorite parts of my whole training. :) I'm always up for a party! HA Anyway, the Friday night before the big race we had a banquet called the Blessing of the Feet. We had yummy pasta and fun times with family and new friends. But, the most awesome part was that it was all about giving thanks to God for the blessings of family, friends, food, fellowship and FEET!! They said a beautiful prayer for all of us runners and of course had some of the women (maybe a few men) in tears! HA
