Tuesday Tidbits

*The kids have been busy with Basketball camp, Baseball Camp, Tennis Camp (for Macy) and in July....Football Camp. They have loved doing this. This is the first summer they have really been intersted in doing the summer camps at their school. This year they are doing it at a new school in the area. Reid has done the camp with Cousin Justin, only because he knew him. Reid is shy like that. But this summer he has loved meeting new kids and showing off his skills. :) Macy has loved tennis camp and has actually hit some balls OVER the net instead of the court next to her or hitting her opponent.

*It's a good thing they are doing the camps at the new school because we are in the process of moving....yes, moving. Our house is on the market and we have a contract to build in the town right next to us. (Still the same school district) We are super excited and ready for our new adventure that God has planned in our lives. We have to sell our house in order for it to all fall in to place so please keep us in your prayers. AND if you hear of someone needing a really cute house....let me know. :) We will keep you posted and will hopefully have pictures to share soon.

*With the house on the market I have to keep my house clean. The clean part isn't so bad but having to make the beds everyday before I leave is getting REAL old! After they are made I am glad because it does feel good...maybe it will become a habit. Who knows?

*We just got back from the movies. We saw Toy*Story and yes, there were tears. I remember when Reid had all the characters and LOVED watching it. We watched it all the time. The movie we have is even a VHS. haha! It makes me sad to think my baby is growning up. I feel all sappy just talking about it.

*I need to go to the grocery store. Why do I hate it so much? There is no food in the house and my teenager has let me know...oh, about every 5 minutes.

*Summer has been great so far. I have loved sleeping a little later and just hanging out at home. I have heard the dreaded words I AM BORED but other than that things are great. It usually doesn't last long. There has already been swimming fun, Schlitt*erbahn trip to G-town, play dates, fireworks and rides at Ke*mah, camps and fun family bike rides.

*I love SuMmEr! Hope you are enjoying your summer, too!

What have you done fun so far? Do you like going to the grocery store? Have you heard the dreaded summer words yet...I'm bored?

Changing the world one girl at a time....

The week after school got out we had our first ever Girl scout camp. ..well for us, anyway. Camp Happy. It was a Monday thru Friday day camp. Loads of fun from 9 am to 2:30pm! Macy had a blast....along with 5 other girls in her troop. I was her leader and learned this week that I am getting to old for this. The heat, emergency evacuation, flying ant stings, sideways rain, mud, dehydration, teenage girl fainting and did I mention the heat? It was too much. ha!
But, now that camp is behind me, I can look back and say that it was one of the most rewarding things I have done. Those girls are awesome and seeing them smile, laugh, screaming when it was popsicle time, running through the "people washer" 10 times just to stay cool, the hugs, them writing me sweet notes, signing the back of my shirt and saying they loved me made it all worth it.
. The things we do for our kids....don't look too close.

My sweet girl trying to wake up....oh, those early morning camp songs. Could they be any more corny?

There's that sweet smile. She had a blast at Camp!

This was her favorite! She loved the canoe ride. But, now, a few days later we have a fungus on our arm....thanks to the lovely canoe ride. haha!

We love the Sea*brook Fire Dept!!! They came and cooled us off on Friday! What a treat!

Words of Wisdom Wednesday by Macy

Macy is my doodler. My writer. My love note sender. My girl who leaves signs all over the house. I love all the notes and pictures that she leaves behind. It's one of my most favorite things about her. She will perk you up on even the yuckiest of days. One of my most favorite ones that she left me once that I love says, "Mom, you are buetieful" haha! Isn't that cute. Oh, and I love the ones that say I am the best mom she has ever had....like she has had tons. ha! And my all time favorite, "Reid is a poopoo head". Now, that's funny....even though I don't allow potty talk and obviously it was before she learned the verse, "He who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious will have a King for a friend."

One of her favorite things to do is to write something fun on my plate in the kitchen....whether its scriptures, the dinner menu or Happy Birthday Mom. Lately it has been scripture because our church has started this wonderful program called "Hide the Word in Your Heart" and its all about learning God's Word and keeping it with you. Because, if you are like me, we learn it and then forget it. That really frustrates me. Anyway, I love our church so much and the way they challenge us to keep the word in our hearts daily. I also love it that the whole congregation is doing it and we are keeping each other accountable. After the kids say their verses they get a sticker that says, "I can say my memory verse, ask me what it is" and they love that. They will spout it off to whoever will listen.

This memory work program is for 2 years all the way to adult. Macy has soaked it up like a sponge. You can ask her quite a few verses and she can spit them out like crazy. That makes my heart happy to know she is getting it. She doesn't even hardly have to stop and think about it like her crazy mommy. I have to really think about it. My old brain doesn't quite work like her young one, ya know.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday full of wisdom and can feel the depth of God's love.....

Pictures from the reception

SCROLL DOWN TO LAST POST TO SEE WEDDING PICTURES. :)
Everybody JUMP!!

Sweet Sam...

Are y'all doing the jitterbug? haha

My sis, the photographer, and Whit.

Whitney and Macy "cuttin' a rug"

Cake time....

Father/daughter dance...makes me cry everytime.

Jor and Clark sittin' in a tree....

This is another post that is WAY overdue. I am a bad cousin for not sharing it sooner. It was such a wonderful weekend and we were honored to have a special place in the wedding. Macy was a Jr. Bridesmaid and thought she was a teenager. Reid was a Jr. Groomsman and I was scared at how big he looked standing up there with all those men. Time goes by way too fast.

Jordan and Clark are the sweetest couple and their love for one another was evident. It makes my heart happy to see how much Clark loves her and that he is her soul mate. I wish them nothing but happiness and love...We love you guys!

Here are some pictures from the fun weekend, not in any particular order, because blogger is weird. Maybe that's why I never blog. Any who, enjoy....

This was the best I could do after the wedding. That's why my sister is the photographer, not me.

Me and my little man. My heart overflows....

My sweet hubby and baby girl....Heart overflowing?? Oh, yes!

Sweet baby cousin Whitney! We love this girl and are so glad Macy has a wonderful Christian woman like Whit to look up too.

Precious Avery, Neena and Papaw! Love them so much! Isn't this a cute picture?

This thing I love most about life....prayer with family and friends. Could not make this life without it. Blessings all around.

Me and Hollie. Love this girl...and miss her since she moved to Dallas! Basketball season just isn't the same.

Sweet cousins....Avery, Jaxon and Macy. Aren't they super cute? Avery and Jaxon were little bell ringers and they took their jobs very seriously. :)

JoJo and Jordan...precious mother and daughter.

Jordan and Macy....preciousness

More pics to come....

A wispy kind of day

Have I have reached an all time low? Nah! I have found a new love. The Wi*sp. It is the most wonderful invention ever for the hurried family. Doesn't that sound terrible? The hurried family. We are busy and now I'm sure I will be judged because it sounds like we are so busy we don't have time to brush our teeth. ha! We really do and its not an everyday thing but it does come in handy. Now, its not for me because now matter how busy I get I do remember to brush my teeth. It's my precious children who sometimes get in the car after a crazy morning with "knock you over" morning breath that forget. Then I feel guilty because I am their mother and I should remind them but sometimes I am a slacker...and I have learned to deal with that. Sometimes I think they forget to brush their teeth on purpose so they can use one. They are great because they have the brush with yummy toothpaste on one side and a cool toothpick on the other. You never know when you might need to pick your teeth. haha! They aren't the cheapest things but oh, so worth it. The other day Macy was brushing her teeth on the way to school (doesn't that sound funny) and I swear this guy was staring at us. I'm sure we looked funny driving down the street with a 7 year old going to town on her teeth. Hey, its that or yellow, nasty teeth for the rest of the day. ha! Now, don't judge me....go buy some and brush your teeth in the car today! It's fun. :)

A sweet birthday and a funny

This is way overdue but since I am trying to get back in the blogging saddle I thought I should start including things that I have forgot. So, forgive me if I backtrack a little and get things out of order. Here is an overdue shout out to the best Nana in the universe. Words can never describe how I feel about this woman. I love everything about her. And I wish her the best birthday and year EVER! I love you, Nana!

So, tonight as we were driving to yet another one of brother's games, the radio was on classic country. Sometimes I like it, ok. Don't be hatin'. :) Anyway, Patsy Cline's classic song "Crazy" was on. Macy said, "Mom, could you please turn that song. It's so old. Like 1980 something." HAHA! I thought that was hilarious. She is such a funny girl.

Monday was a crazy, crazy day. I'm going to bed. 'Nuff said.

I'm baaacckk!

Well, so much for being a better blogger. I get so stinkin' tired of saying that I am going to keep up with my life better on blogger and then never follow through. I guess you could say I am a slacker. A major slacker. So, here's to a new day, a new blog post and ramblings of the ever so busy wife & mom.

I can't even begin to tell you all that we have been up to since January 14. January! WOW. I so thought 2010 would be my year to jump my blog into the realms of greatness like maybe Pioneer Woman or someone cool like that. HA! But, nah. I guess I will never have my 15 minutes of fame or get to be on Good Mor*ning America. So, here we go....Just little 'ole me trying to make some sense of my everyday crazy life. I love my life. Crazy or not.

*What have we been doing lately? SPORTS!! Sports of all kinds. We are THAT family that usually spends most of our time at some kind of playing field and spend tons of money at the concession stands. Thanks to Macy. She loves that if you catch a foul ball you get free Air Heads. Let me tell you, that girl can run after a foul ball like a pro. She has beat a few boys out of the popular candy goodness. I love every minute of watching my little athlete play and look forward to many, many years of using my wonderful stadium chair, cheering and eating sunflower seeds.

*Macy is still keeping us busy with dance and her big recital will be in May. She looks so forward to her time in the spotlight! ha! We will also have our ever so famous mother/daughter dance. It is really fun getting to spend that time with her dancing our little hearts out. I'm sure in May there will be pictures for my few loyal readers.

*Tonight is Sabrsula family movie night. We get our shower, jammies on, and hop in our bed and watch a movie. There is usually popcorn involved. Last movie night we watched The Karate Kid II. I had forgotten what a wonderful movie that is. The kids loved it. Troy and I enjoy the time with them because we know that this phase won't last forever. We would love to pause this moment because they are at such a fun age but for now we just soak it all in and love every minute of the time we do get to spend with all 4 of us together. Being a mommy is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. Sometimes I wonder why God blessed me so....

*Today was an absolute beautiful day. Just sayin'

*Troy and Macy just got home from the Girl Scout Father/Daughter dance. They both walked in with huge grins on their faces. I think they had a great time. Macy did giggle when she told me...."Daddy did the moonwalk." Oh, good grief! Glad I wasn't there. haha!

*I know you won't believe this....Reid is helping Macy with some math games at the table as we speak. On a Saturday. Really? Poppi would be so proud. :)

*On that note...although Reid and Macy have their moments, they really do love each other. I see glimpses of smiles, laughs and concerns. When Macy has homework he likes to help. Especially math. He is really good at it....thankfully he didn't take after me. At Reid's games Macy loves to cheer. That makes my heart swell with pride.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Saturday. I pinkie promise that I will be back to blogging soon....it won't be 4 months! (JoJo) :) For now, I am off to pop some buttery popcorn and spend the rest of the night with my family. Family night...here I come!

A little bit of ramble

I remember hearing a story about a mom who was is such a hurry that she fed her kids on the go. On this particular day she put some soup in a zip*lock bag, cut a small snip in the corner and had her child drink the soup while in the car (going to some sporting event or dance class, I'm sure). I always thought that was terrible and vowed never to be "that" mom or to be in that much of a hurry. Boy, did I eat my words. I seem to be doing that alot lately.....you know, eating my words. It seems to be the norm for me.

Yesterday was a crazy, crazy day. Soup was not involved. There was no snipping of a zip*lock. Now, there was a zip*lock but instead of soup it was filled with chicken nuggets. I am a bad mom. After I picked Macy up from school we ran like crazy until it was time to get Reid from practice. I realized there would be no time to eat between picking him up and church. So, what's a Mom to do? Yep. Quickly cook some nuggets, pack up the nuggets in a zippy, pack up some chips and grab a Dr. Pep and run out the door. Sounds like such a nice and healthy dinner for my growing teenager, right? Well, he thought it was cool. Me, I was "that" mom!

So, there we go driving to church with the lights on in the car. Which I HATE because I can't see a darn tootin' thing while driving. Reid was gobbling down his brown bag dinner and Macy was in the back seat with her light on doing her homework. I swear. I'm sure we looked quite hilarious.

Which brings me to my next point. I think one of my New Years Resolutions should have been to slow down a bit. Learn to say no. Learn to take care of me and my family better and not to eat in the car so much. Is it too late to add on to my list? ha!

Which brings me to my next point. I have been detoxing my body since November and have really trying to heal my body from the inside out. I have not had coffee since the beginning of November and let me tell you. I.miss.it. I really do. Especially with all this cold weather. I have really wanted to snuggle up with a cup of coffee and sit by the fire. But, now only herbal tea will do. I have been eating alot of beans, brown rice, veggies, fruit, vitamins and everything whole wheat. It has been great. I feel great. I have lost a little weight but still struggling and continuing with my journey. It has been hard but hoping it will pay off in the long run. 2010 is my year to be thin. Hey, that rhymed. Well, there you have it....that's my new motto! :)

Which brings me to my next point. Yesterday, I had an appointment with a personal trainer and she kicked my tail!! I am so sore today I can barely walk. I thought I was in better shape than that. Guess not. Well, I am well on my way.....

Peace out........

Ringin' in 2010

I thought I would blog January 1st...you know to start the year off on the right "bloggy" foot. But, no. It didn't happen. I thought about it but was so busy the day just passed me by. It made me sad because I wanted to really start my blogging off right and keep it up for 2010. I vowed to myself to make being a better blogger one of my new years resolutions. Just one. Because I have many.

I love blogs. Really, I do. I think it is a awesome way to journal your life, keep up with other friends and family and have fun doing it....so, here it is...to a new year, a new bloggy attitude, and keeping up with my life. I need your help....my followers, my friends, my family...I need you to help me. If I haven't posted in a while I might need you to just knock me over the head. That might help. I do have some things in store for my blog and hopefully that will help keep you entertained. And for the love of all things good....leave me a comment. It helps my self-esteem. :)

2009 is gone. Honestly, I can say GOODBYE and GOOD RIDDANCE! It was a hard year for our family because of Poppi's death. We miss him so much and can feel his loss all around us. Especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We all missed him so much. We missed him walking behind us picking up the crumbs and the wrapping paper we left behind. Nana's house was a mess because he wasn't there keeping up with all the cousins and our trash. We miss seeing him sweep his sidewalk, cracking funny jokes, leaving us notes, playing games on the computer, driving to the church 50 times a day and those trips to the grocery store....my, oh my! Although he is gone and we miss him so, we know that he would want us to keep going, keep serving the Lord and to remember the great times. I think that is what 2010 is all about....a new start

Here are just a few of the things I want to change in 2010:

*I want to be a better mother and wife. I have been a mom for 13 years and I haved loved every minute of it. Now, listen when I say every minute isn't roses but I love it. This year is a little different....I have a teenager. Need I say more? I pray that this year brings good times and less attitude from my teenager and me. :) I love having a 7 year old and all her girly-ness. She is a princess and I love that. I want to enjoy every minute of mommy hood and give Troy more of my love and more of time. My husband is my rock and I love him dearly. I don't know what I would do without him. I hope that this year we can focus more on our relationship and maybe take a trip or two...or three. My family is my most prized possession.

*I want to be a better Christian woman. I want to spend more time in the word and apply more of it to my everyday life. I want to memorize more scripture and I vow to keep up with my scripture book. I love the Lord and want to also give him more of my time. HE is precious to me. I am thankful for all my blessings and I hope that 2010 will be a year of showing HIM my thankfulness and joy.

*I want to be more healthy. I want to eat healthier and exercise more. I have been struggling with my weight for over 10 years and I hope that 2010 will be the year of kicking that struggle in the tail. Literally.

*I want to be a better blogger and keep up with the fun things going on in our lives.

*I want to be a better friend. A better servant to others.

Happy 2010 to you all. I pray that your year be blessed with all you wish and hope for.....

Oh, by the way. Did you know that today's date is a palindrome? 01-02-2010. Say it backwards...weird. Just a little trivia for you today. :)

sick day, clean day

As I look around my house I realize I shouldn't be sitting here on the computer. I should be up cleaning..but, I'm not. I should be doing something productive. But I'm not. I should be at work. But, I'm not. It's one of those gloomy, cold days where you don't want to get out of the house or out of your jammies. It makes you want to turn on the fireplace and watch a Lifetime movie. Then you remember where you live and know that later the temperature will be 70 degrees. So, no fireplace for you. Oh, the lovely Houston weather.

Just FYI, I did have to get out to take Rooster to school but that's all I've done today. Oh, and stop by store to get a thermometer. LuLu is home sick today. She ran to our bed last night about 4 in the morning and she was burning up. I searched all over the house for that dang thermometer and couldn't find it anywhere. It is never where you need it to be. So, now we are home and as much as I hate to see her home sick I love having some time just with her. I love that she still needs me. I love that she is still my shadow. I love it that she still runs down the hall and jumps in our bed at night. Right now she is all snuggled down watching the Disney channel with a empty paper towel roll over her eye. She said she is a sick pirate. Very funny. It makes me want to freeze time. Just for a bit.

So, back to my house and all its problems. :) Let's face it, I am no June Cleaver. I want to be but fear I will never be a good housekeeper. What in the world?? How can my house go from "so clean you could eat off the floor" to "wait, that dropped, don't put it in your mouth?" Seriously, how do people do it? How do others NOT have the dreaded "piles" all over? Where is all their laundry? Where is the sink full of dishes? You mop once a week? WHAT? And your bed is made everyday? Seriously? There are many times I just drop into friends houses and it looks awesome. I would be petrified if someone just dropped in today. Heaven help me!

Well, I guess today you know what I will be doing along with taking care of my sick one. Anyone up for helping a worn out and tired Mom?

Question of the day?

Q: How do you know you have a teenage boy living in your
house?

A: Easy.....he has 2 dinner plates full of food and eats every bit
of it!

I can't seem to fill my teenagers tummy. He is hungry every second of the day. I feel so bad for him and I know this is just the beginning. I think I might need to get another job just to pay the extra grocery bill. Wait, what am I saying? Troy will just have to work overtime. ha!

When we go out to eat he gets a steak, people. Seriously. Between him and Troy they can do some damage at a restaurant. Yesterday, after church we went with friends to a local well known deli and he ordered a steak sandwich, We all got a chuckle out of that. Our days of kids meals for the Rooster are long over. Where did my baby go?

What recipes work well for your family that feeds A LOT? I am already having to double the recipes....HELP!

And the winner is...

Macy and I had so much fun with our give-a-way preparations! She was super excited to get to help me. She really thought about it hard and searched all over the house for the perfect paper, colored pens and scissors to get the strips all ready to write the names on. I love having a girly-girl who gets excited over things like me. :)

Here she is making all the card with the names on it. She is all about the crafty stuff! I love it...
We just had to get the witch's hat...it has many uses! ha! She really took this seriously. She counted to 3 and pulled out the name and jumped for joy.

OH MY, OH MY!!! I am so excited! The winner for the first ever Heather's House give-a-way is one of our most FAVORITE PEOPLE EVER!!! Macy was so excited when she pulled out this name:

Congrats to you Nana banana! We love you and will send you your candle ASAP! Maybe I will deliver it personally....you never know! :) I miss you and love you so!

Keep reading....you never know when there will be another fabulous give-a-way.

Blog questionaire

I saw this on a few other blogs and always love a good test. :)

1. What is your favorite thing to snack on while your blogging?

Well, I think maybe that's my problem. I like to snack. But, lately I have been trying to be good so my snack of choice right now while I blog is grapes...easy to eat and type. I am stuffing my face with grapes because there is already so much stinkin' Halloween candy at my house. Poof, be gone...maybe my skinny husband will eat it or take it to work.

2. What is one thing you wouldn't want to live without?

Well, it is a non-spiritual answer, although my Bible is one of my favorite things ever, but ...I'd have to say my cell phone. Lucky for me I can pull up the bible on my phone. :) Maybe I should say my toothbrush...nah, my cell phone.

3. Beach, Mountains, or Farm? Where would you live if you had a choice?

I love the beach. It is one of my favorite places to go.

4. What's your least favorite chore/household duty?

Cleaning the tubs, shower or shower door...which is why I don't do it. That is Troy's job. So, I guess the job that I do that I hate the most is cleaning the mopping, cleaning the bathroom and toilets.

5. Who do people say you remind them of?

I don't know. I hope someone or something good.

6. Prefer parties and socializing or staying home with the fam?

I love being home with my family...snuggling together, eating popcorn and watching a movie.

7. What's your all time favorite movie?

That's a hard one, I have so many. I guess the movies that I could watch over and over is: Steel Magnolias, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Ghost, 50 First Dates and the list goes on and on.

8. Do you sleep in your make-up or remove it like a good little girl every night?

Oh, I love to sleep without my make-up. There are nights when I forget and I don't sleep very well. I think now I am better at washing my face because I need to pamper my older skin. ha!

9. Do you have a hidden talent or a deep desire to learn something that you've never had a chance to learn?

Well, as a matter of fact, yes. I've said it before a hundred times but I love to sing and I want to learn to play the guitar. My father in law gave me one and I just stare at it. Sometimes I pick around on it. I can play some really easy stuff but but I want to sit down and just be able to jam! :)

10. What's one strange thing you're really good at?

I have no idea.

11. What first attracted you to your spouse?

his eyes.

12. What is something you love to smell?

COFFEE and my Nana's roast.

13. Tell something about you that you know irritates people.

I hope nothing. I don't know, leave me a comment and tell it to me gently.

14. When you have extra money, what's the first thing you think to do with it?

Shop, shop and shop...then I slap myself.

15. Are you a silent laugher or a loud laugher?

Oh.my.goodness. I am a LOUD laughter. I'm sure I annoy people with that. Maybe I should have written that on answer 13.

16. Where is your favorite place to shop?

Target, Ann Taylor Loft, anywhere in the mall, Marshall's, Kirklands.....Oh my, the list is endless.

17. What's one thing you'd do more often if you had more time?

Time...what's that? I guess I would spend more time exercising and taking care of myself.

18. Are you a big spender or frugal?

I guess I would say the big spender of the family but I do love a good sale.

19. Who is your favorite character of all time?

Cinderella

20. Would you want to be famous?

sure, why not... :)

REMEMBER MY CONTEST! IT ENDS TONIGHT! SCROLL DOWN AND LEAVE ME A COMMENT TO WIN! :)

Ho, Ho, WHAT???

Someone please remind me what day it is?? I mean, please. Today, I had to run an errand and low and behold in one of the stores I actually heard a Christmas carol. WHAT? It's October, people. Can we not celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving before Jolly Old Saint Nick makes his grand entrance? I haven't even thought about shopping or making a list and checking it twice.

So, that got me thinking. (I know, I do that a lot..it's scary) I still haven't done my give-a-way for all my faithful readers and I feel really guilty about it. I am a woman of my word. :) Anyway, a few post ago, when I wrote about 25+ things about moi, I told of my most favorite candle...at the moment. It is at Bath and B*ody Works and I L-O-V-E it. SO, in honor of Christmas in October, I present to you, Evergreen. YUM! If you like the smell of fresh cut Christmas trees, you will love this scent. It's perfect for the holidays. I even bought one for myself. :) BTW, its 4 oz....not the biggest in the store but still good and smelly. ha!

To enter and win this awesome candle, all you have to do is leave me a little ole' comment. I will do it the old fashioned way and draw your name out of a hat. I might even draw the name out of Macy's new "Glam" Witch hat. ha! Even if you are a lurker, which I don't think I have many, please leave me a note. If not, the candle will go to either my aunt or my mom. :) Which is fine with me. The contest will go through Friday at midnight. Good luck!

Merry Christmas in October.

Rants of a crazy person

*Blogs still are a funny thing. But, lets move on. Thanks to those who love me and support my crazy rants.

*Today it is raining like cats and dogs. The kids are supposed to be cleaning their rooms but I know better. I already hear Reid jumping up and down and that means there is a little NC*AA 2010 {{sigh}}. What's a mom to do?

*I am washing clothes. Doesn't that sound exciting. I think I have used a whole bottle of S*hout this football season. I mean really, who decides that 13 year old boys, or any boys for that matter, need white football pants. Really? Case in point...

And, yes, they are white again. Well, a little on the beige side, but who cares. I'll just need to wash them a few more times. We have 2 more games left and a handful of practices. Mom and Dad are coming tonight to watch Reid's game tomorrow. We are super excited.

*I stayed up all weekend watching the 2nd DVD series, Mad*Man, that Holly gave me.. I have been stuck in the 1960's...again. It is so good! I have been watching it on my computer with my ear buds in and needless to say, the dishes are sky high. The kids had to rinse off a dirty spoon this morning just to eat breakfast. I'm not proud of that and I won't win mother of the year. Just sayin'... Now, its over and I can get back to my duties at hand...

*I still haven't purchased Macy's Halloween costume yet. She wants to be a nice witch. Really? Anyway, I guess I have been a little preoccupied with my friends from the 1960's and now my poor baby doesn't have a costume. So, I guess its off to the Halloween store we go...if there are any left.

*We went to Dew*berry farms last weekend with Kim and her family. It was so much fun. I had never been and am so glad we did. It was such a neat place. A lot of walking and standing in lines but still a really fun place for the kids.

We got to pick out our very own pumpkin. Macy loved walking around looking for the perfect one!

The kids loved petting the animals. We took cousin Avery with us and they both had a blast. Don't you just love the look on that girl's face? haha! She loves her job.

Cheeseeeee.....Avery did not want to look at me for some odd reason. :) And, yes, we lost the cute black bow somewhere along the way.

*I haven't forgot the give-a-way....just looking for the right thing. The pressure.

Blogs

Blogs are a funny thing. You think about them all day. Or I do. Please, tell me that you have the same addiction to blogs as I do. You know, you do something, see something or try something new and automatically think, "Hey, I can't wait to blog about this." Then you take your time and blog, you think its the best blog ever and then you wait. Wait for what, you ask? Well, comments of course. It's like the biggest popularity contest ever. It's rather sad. I have been doing a lot of research on different blogs and have come to the conclusion that I will never be as good of a blogger/writer as most of these women. Just sayin'.....

A lot of these talented women have seem to make a pretty good living on their blogs. I mean take for instance, The Pio*neer Woman. She is hilarious. I remember reading her blog every morning before she was a big hit. I mean she had a following but nothing like she has now. She has such a wonderful way of writing and it just sucks you right in. Isn't that the coolest thing? She went from a stay-at-home mom, home school teacher and county wife to one of the most popular woman on the Internet, like overnight. I was reading today that she even got to go to L.A. and be a part of the Bonn*ie Hun*t Show. I mean, that is when you know you have really made it. LOL! And all because she decided to blog about her adventurous life in the country. If you have never read her blog, you should. It will take you way out to the country where the air is clean the the traffic is a herd of cows crossing the street.

So, that got me thinking. I was a county girl. I moved to the city 10 years ago from one of the cutest little country towns ever! It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. So, I guess I will always have that country blood in me. I love parts of country life....especially the part where things are more slow-paced. I never care what time it is when I go home to the country. I love that. But, unfortunately, I live in the city. My life is backwards to the Pio*neer woman. Like her, I have a love story with my very own Marl*boro Man, my sweet kids take all my time and energy and I love them and I have a dog. Unlike her though, I have a mall down the street. I don't have cows crossing the street, I have kids on skateboards and bikes. My hubby doesn't drive a diesel dooley truck with a trailer, he drives a Niss*an Maxi*ma that we lovingly named "Max". I don't home school or go to the grocery store once a month. I go daily. It's across the street. I don' t live on a frontier but in a subdivision with neighbors so close they can probably hear me sneeze. I love to cook but do not have a cookbook. Shucks. I don't, nor will I ever, get up at 5 in the morning to go feed some cows. My dog is lucky to get food at 8 AM.

Maybe one day, people will find my city life interesting. Like maybe the adventures of the City Woman? Nah.

All this to say. Blogs are a funny thing.

Oh, running, I miss you.

I'm mad. At myself, that is. Why? Because I have let my running go and I am missing it so much. This year when I went to register for the half marathon it was full. I promised myself I would sign up for another one and never did. Now, 3 months later and a few pounds heavier, I have let my running go to the way side. Don't get me wrong, I have ran a little, walked a little and went to worked out a little but nothing beats my running club and I miss it so much. Having that accountability helps me so much. So, needless to say, I feel like a "shlumpidinka" (isn't that what O*prah calls it? :) ) and is in need of a body makeover. Especially with the holidays right around the corner. Oh, heaven help us all when Aunt Kathy brings her famous Christmas cookies. Hey, FaFa, do you think you can make them fat-free?

So, anyone have any good ideas on how to get my running mojo back? HELP!

I miss getting up early and getting my running done for the day. I miss seeing the sunrise and all God's glory.

I miss my fuel belt. I miss my G*2 in Mango flavor.

I will miss these crazy girls at the half marathon. They sure were funny to watch as I ran my 13.1 miles.

I miss my watch. :)

I will miss not getting a 2010 medal this year!

I will miss these lovely oranges. One of the perks of running.....free fruit! :)
