An American Girl Adventure

A few weeks ago we had a wonderful GIRLS trip to Dallas!  It was for our sweet friend, Mandi's birthday.

We let them skip school on Friday and they thought that was the best thing since sliced bread!  After a llooonnngggg 6 hour trip to Dallas we finally made it.  There was a lot of giggling and story telling.  ....and that was just from the moms.  ha!

The long trip was so worth it.  We got there at a decent time and was able to check in to the hotel and freshen up before we ventured out to find supper.

Our hotel was great and it was walking distance to TONS of eating places.  We chose Mexican.

Duh.

After dinner we just knew that they would be ready for bed after the long car ride.  We were wrong.  They were wired and ready to pull an all niter...we were not!  We were some tired mommas.

Finally they went to sleep and dreamt of all things American Girls.

The next morning they woke up ready to go.  It was so cute watching them get all dolled up.  I think there was even a little make-up involved.  They usually don't get to do that but since the weekend was such a special time we allowed a little mascara.  I think we made big brownie points.  :)

Our first stop for the day was to get our nails and toes all prettied up.  They thought they were somethin' at the nail place.  There was even a special chair for kids.  There might or might not have been some tears over who would go first, second and last.  When you are 8 being last is tragic.

Seriously.

Next stop...the AG store.  The girls were so excited they forgot all about the tears over the "chair"{{whew}}

Driving up to the AG store there were grins and a lot of jumping up and down.  I will remember that moment forever.  It was one of those mental pictures I randomly snap in my head that I hope I will remember forever. (Please tell me that y'all do that, too)  My little girl is growing up right in front of my eyes.

Their eyes were as big as saucers when they walked into the store.  It was precious.  Let me tell you, that store is AMAZING.  There is everything under the sun for those dolls...even a salon!

Seriously.

YEAH!!  We made it to the best store EVAHHHHH!  The girls were so excited!  And to be quite honest with you, so was I....I felt like I was 8 again.

Before we made it to the AG store, we HAD to get a manicure.  Can you say spoiled??

We also had to have a midnight snack of ICE CREAM DRUMSTICKS..can you say YUM!  I mean the trip wasn't complete until then.  :)

Look at those cute little piggies!  That polish lasted all of 30 minutes.  ha!
Here are the 3 Musketeers waiting to go inside the AG store. They would hardly take this picture because they wanted to go in so badly!

Macy posing with Addison....her baby.  She fixed her hair and got her all ready for the big day.

My sweetie pie

Silly girls...

This is Macy with all her loot.  She had so much fun shopping and I had so much fun watching her.  I had just as much fun throwing stuff in the bag as she did.  We are t-r-o-u-b-l-e when we shop together.  Troy gets a little nervous when I say we are going shopping.

Here is Macy paying with her own money!  I was so proud of her.  She really was being careful and watching her dollars...then I paid for the rest.  {{wink, wink}}

I love this picture because she was calling Troy to tell him how much she spent and about all the loot she bought.  It was too cute.  She was so excited!

Ok, if this isn't the craziest thing...they have hooks in the bathroom so you can hang your doll while you potty.  Isn't that hilarious.  What is the world coming to....

Linda and the birthday girl, Mandi

Me, Macy and Addison

Cassie, Jaycee and Kit

Happy Birthday Mandi!

We hope all your wishes come true....

There is nothing better than FRIENDS....

So there you have it.  A little recap of our Dallas extravaganza.  It was a HUGE time and we would do it again in a heartbeat.  I think Houston needs an AG store.

Better yet, never mind. :)  My pocketbook would never recover.

Thank you Mandi (and Linda) for letting us share your special day with you.  Happy Birthday sweet girl!

didn't realize they had an AG store in Dallas. My daughter loved American Girls for a while, but we only bought cheap stuff, like off ebay! once though while in Singapore, we actually found an AG doll (or else a really good copy). we bought her and an Asian dress for her too.
