summertime

Yesterday was our first official day of summer. We are so glad school is out. We all slept late and Reid made eggs and bacon for me and Macy. It was really good. He is a good little breakfast chef. He learned that from his Daddy. :) Why is it that Dad's like to cook breakfast foods? I remember my Dad always making pancakes. And it was usually for supper. I guess breakfast is easy. ha!
BUT, I have already heard the famous words....I'M BORED. yikes...already? Well, I have lots for them to do but cleaning their rooms is not what they have in mind. So, I think I will be spending alot of time at the pool. Well, after they clean at least some of their room. And I have to clean my room, too. My room is probably worse than theirs. I need to be an example. :) Hey, by the time I clean everything else in this house I'm too tired to clean my room. I did make my bed this morning, Hey, I'm trying.
How do some moms keep things so organized? Or make it look so easy? It makes me crazy.

books....
It's no surprise to my realllllllyyyyyy close friends that I am a terrible reader. In fact, I often buy a books and get thru one to two chapters and decide that I'd rather dust my house or mow the yard than read. I know, I'm weird. I never had that love of reading that my friends have. I wish I did. I am a wannabe reader. I will buy books just because the cover is pretty. I can read blogs all day but books....ewww! I think, too, that I have adult ADHD. Anywho, thats another story.
So, today as I was cleaning all the paper work out from behind the phone, I found Reid's summer reading list for his AP classes for Jr. High. Poor thing. He does great in reading class but has my desire for books. He won't just pick up a book and read. I'm so sad about that. I really want him to be a good reader. So, this summer guess what we will be doing? Well, I decided I would read with him. You know, be an example! HA HA. So, our first read.... "Where the Red Fern Grows". I read some of this book in Jr. High but then I realized there was a movie and well, thats all she wrote. I am more of a movie buff...... :)
Any advice on learning how to be a better reader? :)

In the merry month of May
I can't believe the month of May is over. I think this is the busiest I have been in a long time. It was CRAZY! Here are some highlights of our busy but fun wonderful month of May....

Baseball has taken over our life. Its so much fun and my little man loves the game. I love getting to watch him play. He is a good little player! He even hit an in the park homerun this year and got some good pitching time. :)
OK...Here is Teacher Appreciation Week. Oh my, can you say overboard? These schools! These Moms....HA!
This is Mindys sweetheart, Will. Isn't he a cutie! And he is just as sweet. He treats Mindy like a princess! And just look at that pic of Troy and Will.....Mindy and I think they look like long lost brothers! We had went bowling that night and they has us laughing so hard. Don't you think they look similar?? Troy just has 15 years on him! Haha!
Daddy trying to teach Macy how its done. Troy is a pretty good bowler!
Now, next...Macy's dance recital! Its is always held at the Opera House in Galveston. It is a BIG deal! They work on the dances all year. This year she danced to "On the Good Ship Lollipop" and "Be Our Guest" (from Beauty and the Beast). It was SO cute! And I thought she looked just adorable! Here she is looking like Shirley Temple. Granny and Van made the trip to see her. We were so glad. I am mad that we didn't get a picture of them with her. Sorry, Granny! What was I thinking? We love you and am so glad y'all came. Avery and Ashley also made the trip! I think Avery loved the dancing. Her face lit up and she was clapping when the first little dancers came out! I love that girl!! Her facial expressions are priceless! It was a fun day with everyone. We all went our to eat at Tortugas afterwards. We sure missed Neena and Papaw. Paps was at home puking his guts up. Sorry Paps!
My sweet little Belle really concentrating!
The family after the performance! Reid was so glad it was over! HA
Then....drumroll, please.....I turned 35. Enough said. My sweet husband did get me some good presents, flowers and a yummy cake. Thanks, honey...I love you!
And lets don't forget field day! What a hot month for field day. Whose idea was that?
Reids favorite part of field day....water guns!
Now do you see why I haven't been blogging? WHEW! I'm glad May is over. Oh, and in all this, I had strep throat and Macy had pink eye. I really had no time to be sick! HA! Troy took off work for a few days so I could lay in bed. Boy, that felt good. Well, not to be sick but to be in my bed with the door shut....AH, pure bliss!

patience
ok..so...some doofus bought something at the mall today that cost a little more than they should pay. This dooofus really wanted it. It was some of this persons birthday money. Maybe thats why its more painful! HA! So, this doof ignored that inner voice saying..."WAIT". It was bought, there was excitement...then when this goober came home and looked it up online....it was 40.00 cheaper. WHAT??? That really chaps my hide....I mean whoever this doofus is hide.
Should it be taken back and ordered online????? Or just suck it up and learn a lesson from it???

March of Dimes

It was 4 years ago that I met my sweet nephews. It was also 4 years ago that I said good-bye to them and kissed their tiny cheeks. They were born way too early...one day before they were 24 weeks, to be exact. We all miss them everyday and they will be forever in our memory. They are precious angels and I am a better person having known them.
On April 27th...our family walks for them. Ashley and I have talked about this for years and now to have it become a reality is so awesome. Please visit my site here to see my March of Dimes page/team. We are super excited about this little adventure and to walk 5 miles together. We are hoping to raise as much money as we can for The March of Dimes. They are such a wonderful organization and help so many families every day. We are thankful for them. If you can, please help support Team Brock and Brody. We will walk not only for Brock and Brody but for families all across the nation whose babies are born way too early.
Thank you so much for your help and support. Love you all.....

Friday Ramblings
**Little League Baseball has taken over our lives. Fun as it is....it is major time consuming. Reid is still enjoying it but is a little scared of the ball this year. He is in the Majors now and the ball seems to be going extra fast. At his game last week there was a boy on the other team that was 6 foot tall....I kid you not. What are these parents feeding their children. I had to go to Academy to invest in a batting helmet with a face mask. HA! Anyway, we had opening day a couple of weekends ago.....it was too fun. Complete with parade and all. So you like my sign....once a cheerleader....always a cheerleader. HA!

**Macy is still loving dance. Her recital is coming up and every hour or so we get a taste of what we will see. She dances all over the house. We have a CD in the car of all the songs for the recital and personally only a few of the songs are really good. The others are really getting on my nerves.
**We went on a school field trip to the H-town zoo. Taking 6 Kindergarten classes to the zoo is well.....a zoo!
**Macy had a Kindergarten Spring Show. It was farm theme....really sweet. I got teary eyed ALOT! I just know how fast time flies and it makes my heart hurt. Really bad. Isn't she a cute cow?
**Can you believe that Michael Johns got voted off of American Idol?? I was shocked. I like him alot. I think Kristy Lee Cook should have got the boot weeks ago. Maybe I'm just jealous. That was my dream, you know. I wish they would have had AI when I was a youngster.
**I got my toes done today. I shouldn't have spent money on that but ,hey, it was a weak moment. I felt I needed a little pampering. For some reason I felt blue and a pedicure sounded like what I needed.
**Do you ever feel like you are not being a good friend? I have some things on my heart.
**My house is looks like a bomb went off. I have laundry that would probably stretch from here to Smithville, my kitchen is a wreck, I need to vaccuum and my bathrooms.....yuck! So, you know what I will be doing tonight. I don't think I can lay my head down until I clean a little.
**My sweet neice is having her 1st birthday party this weekend. We are all so excited and love her so much. She is such a blessing and an answered prayer. I think I might just take a bounce in the bounce house in her honor! I hope I don't pop it.
**Thats another thing...Weight Watchers stinks. No really, I have been doing it for a few weeks and the pounds are not coming off as fast as I would like. I hate diets.
**Can I just tell you how much I love my new Mary Jane Crocs...
**Macy is going to see High School Musical on ice tomorrow morning. She is way excited.
**I am going to be 35 soon....that freaks me out.
**I've had a bad hair day today. And yesterday. And the day before that.
am i whining? :)
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Rodeo days....
This post is going a little back in time but I had to share some Rodeo pictures. We had such a great time. Ash and BA took us to Rascal Flatts and Troy and I took them to see Brad Paisley. They were both really good but I think Rascal Flatts were my favorite. They are so good. The kids had fun too. The rodeo wouldn't be complete without spending a million dollars at the carnival and eating Turkey legs...ha!

HANNAH MONTANA!!
She was singing and dancing all night. It was so cute!
Our seats were so high....Hannah looked like she was about an inch tall!
But we didn't even care. We had fun laughing, dancing, singing, eating a 5.00 bowl of ice
cream and sharing a 12.00 pizza and drink! HA!
to our seats for a personal photo shoot! She even
asked me when we were going to go meet her.
Macy and I had a blast. I felt like a kid again. HA!

Happy Easter
Hope everyone had a wonderful day. We did....we got up, hunted eggs, checked our Easter baskets for all the goodies that the bunny left, put on our new spring outfits and ran out the door to church. We missed Troy because he had to work but we did bring some Easter lunch from Chilis. yum! It wasn't Nana's roast but its the best I could do. :) After we ate lunch we went back to the church with some friends and let the kids hunt easter eggs. They had so much fun. It was a beautiful day to be outside. I love this time of year. I love new dresses for the kids. I love my son in a tie. I love white sandals. I love candy. I love bunnies. I love family. I love friends. I love flowers. I love Easter baskets and all that crazy grass that gets evertwhere. But most of all I love my Savior and the fact that he died for ME and YOU and then rose again to give us eternal life. Praise Him....
his last year to care about eggs...next year I'll just give him a bag of candy.
My sweetie pies...ready for church.

Macy had to leave a note for the bunny just in case he needed some help on where to put the eggs. She likes to know whats going on. Before bed she hopped up and said, "I have to leave him a note to make sure that he hides them in the house." HA! That surprised me. I thought for sure whe would want them outside so the bunny wouldn't come in. :)

year we weren't in Smithville to dye eggs. It was neat to be at home but so weird.
We missed everyone so much!
