The week after school got out we had our first ever Girl scout camp. ..well for us, anyway. Camp Happy. It was a Monday thru Friday day camp. Loads of fun from 9 am to 2:30pm! Macy had a blast....along with 5 other girls in her troop. I was her leader and learned this week that I am getting to old for this. The heat, emergency evacuation, flying ant stings, sideways rain, mud, dehydration, teenage girl fainting and did I mention the heat? It was too much. ha!
But, now that camp is behind me, I can look back and say that it was one of the most rewarding things I have done. Those girls are awesome and seeing them smile, laugh, screaming when it was popsicle time, running through the "people washer" 10 times just to stay cool, the hugs, them writing me sweet notes, signing the back of my shirt and saying they loved me made it all worth it.

Not a day goes by that I don't thank GOD for my children! How blessed I am to be able to watch you as you AWESOMELY raise your children to be such role models and Godly people. I bask in it everyday. The memories that you are creating will last forever for them. All the bleachers, the camps, the sleepovers, and even the nagging them to do their homework (LOL ) are already so worth it. It is so evident in the people they are becoming because of you. I am so proud of you and love you so much!
awww, thanks, mom! sniff, sniff!
I think it's GREAT you did this for/with Macy--I don't think she could have been more excited--I mean, does life get any better than Girl Scout Camp?
You deserve a reward and a medal though for trooping through the HEAT--I don't think I could have made it.
Your pictures came out FAB--love the self-portrait of the two of you and the one in the canoe--Macy's grinning from ear to ear!
Amen to all that Lynn said!!! So glad that you both survived camp and were not eaten by alligators or hit by lightning!!!!
Oh. my. goodness. That makes me exhausted just looking at the pictures. I was a Brownie leader, but we never made it to camp. ha! Church camp, yes. It's a crazy time, but your baby girl will never forget it. Hopefully, you will. haha...Love you, dear. and yes, you are a FABULOUS mom. Stay on your knees! You're almost there!
