Blogs

Blogs are a funny thing. You think about them all day. Or I do. Please, tell me that you have the same addiction to blogs as I do. You know, you do something, see something or try something new and automatically think, "Hey, I can't wait to blog about this." Then you take your time and blog, you think its the best blog ever and then you wait. Wait for what, you ask? Well, comments of course. It's like the biggest popularity contest ever. It's rather sad. I have been doing a lot of research on different blogs and have come to the conclusion that I will never be as good of a blogger/writer as most of these women. Just sayin'.....

A lot of these talented women have seem to make a pretty good living on their blogs. I mean take for instance, The Pio*neer Woman. She is hilarious. I remember reading her blog every morning before she was a big hit. I mean she had a following but nothing like she has now. She has such a wonderful way of writing and it just sucks you right in. Isn't that the coolest thing? She went from a stay-at-home mom, home school teacher and county wife to one of the most popular woman on the Internet, like overnight. I was reading today that she even got to go to L.A. and be a part of the Bonn*ie Hun*t Show. I mean, that is when you know you have really made it. LOL! And all because she decided to blog about her adventurous life in the country. If you have never read her blog, you should. It will take you way out to the country where the air is clean the the traffic is a herd of cows crossing the street.

So, that got me thinking. I was a county girl. I moved to the city 10 years ago from one of the cutest little country towns ever! It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. So, I guess I will always have that country blood in me. I love parts of country life....especially the part where things are more slow-paced. I never care what time it is when I go home to the country. I love that. But, unfortunately, I live in the city. My life is backwards to the Pio*neer woman. Like her, I have a love story with my very own Marl*boro Man, my sweet kids take all my time and energy and I love them and I have a dog. Unlike her though, I have a mall down the street. I don't have cows crossing the street, I have kids on skateboards and bikes. My hubby doesn't drive a diesel dooley truck with a trailer, he drives a Niss*an Maxi*ma that we lovingly named "Max". I don't home school or go to the grocery store once a month. I go daily. It's across the street. I don' t live on a frontier but in a subdivision with neighbors so close they can probably hear me sneeze. I love to cook but do not have a cookbook. Shucks. I don't, nor will I ever, get up at 5 in the morning to go feed some cows. My dog is lucky to get food at 8 AM.

Maybe one day, people will find my city life interesting. Like maybe the adventures of the City Woman? Nah.

All this to say. Blogs are a funny thing.
