There are so many things I could blog about today. We had a wonderful weekend with our dear dear friends from WAY up North. Lacie, Trey and boys came and we partied all weekend! HA! We love having them. She even braved my kitchen and helped me reorganize everything! We had, I kid you not, 13 bags of junk that were piled in my kitchen cabinets. She needs her own show on HGTV. That girl can organize let me tell you. Some things she made me throw away and other things I was glad to get rid of. And only she could make me throw away my high school retainer! HA HA!! G-R-O-S-S! We laughed so hard..she has pictures. I will have to get them. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures. My cabinets look really good. Anyway we had fun laughing, shopping, playing with the kids, being with the girls, soup swapping, facials and talking till 2 in the morning. We even passed the stomach bug around a bit this weekend. But its all good! :) And I still tear up when I see her white SUV drive away.
Fun times at the Soup Swap! Look at all that soup back there!
Today, (sniff, sniff) I went to Jr. High Parent Orientation. Boy, that felt weird. I still have a hard time believing that my son, my baby boy, will be in 6th grade next year. He will do great. I just know it. Just please pray for Gods guidance over him. I remember Jr. High being such a weird time in my life. I hope he will continue to blossom into the man that God has planned. And that I can be the Mom that God wants me to be. There are more days than not when I feel like I fail terribly at it. Being a parent is one tough job. I could go on and pour my heart out but then I would feel like Debbie Downer. So, just remember us in your prayers as we start this new journey called the teenage years....YIKES! Ok, now I need a tissue....for real.
You, therefore, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

How beautiful is that? I know you must feel a flurry of emotions with pencils "flicking" and Jr. High orientation! But, you are a wonderful MOTHER and he loves you so much. It's ok to be tender about that. And your cabinets? I am so impressed. WOW, Lacie! However, I must report you to Dr. Mayer's retainer mafia. Maybe he'll let you slide this time. Love you.
This was so sweet Heather! I'm sure it's surreal to go Jr. high orientation. I can't believe it either. You have raised an outstanding young man and he will shine next year.
Huge congrats on your cabinets!! They look fantastic and I'm sure it feels great to get rid of 13 bags of stuff. Wow!
Sounds like you had a great week-end. I know you and Lacie had fun doing work things together. You can always accomplish more when you have someone to do things with you. As for this other stuff you wrote about--it is just stuff. You are a super mom and Reid is a super kid. I know how hard it is to see your kids grow up, but I trust Reid to continue to be the same sweet boy he has always been. Poppi and I love you and your family so much and you certainly know you are in our prayers each day. Tell Macy that I didn't know she could use a swifter but I will be checking her out next time she is here. I love the apron, too. Nana
Ohhh...I don't want your little boy to grow up becaue that means all our children will have to grow up too!
I had a BLAST this weekend!!! Fun, Fun, FUN!!!! There is nothing like drinking coffee, talking and cleaning out a kitchen-Ha!
I will get those pictures to you including the band (of our kids) playing "instruments" while we were cleaning! Priceless!
oh yes! "the lets use all my dishes band". that was the best! Who knew a wooden spoon, pampered chef stand and bowls were so much fun! LOL
Not jr. high already!!! Does that mean we need to quit calling him rooster? Nah.
Do I ever need Lacie! How far away is she anyway?
She's close to you, FaFa! She will whip your kitchen into shape! Love you and miss you!
It's the PIG PILLOWCASE!! ha ha ha ha!
I still can't believe that my baby will be in jr. high. That so means I'm old since I used to kidnap him and take him to college with me.
sniff, sniff, sniff
